Cenk Uygur

Cenk Uygur' (pron. Jenk Yoo-ger; in Turkey, the surname would typically be pronounced "Ooy-goor") is the main host of the liberal talk radio show The Young Turks. From September 18, 2006 until January 15, 2008, Uygur's program aired weekday mornings from 6-9AM ET on Air America Radio. Air America has since discontinued carrying the show, but despite this, the program remains in production. The Young Turks is currently a web-only talk show that is carried by AOL News and YouTube. It streams live Monday through Friday, 3-7pm ET on www.theyoungturks.com. Cenk Uygur and guest hosts typically cover topics ranging from politics to entertainment. The show is produced by Dave Koller, Jayar Jackson, and Ana Kasparian and directed by Jesus Godoy.
Uygur is also a regular blogger on The Huffington Post and an attorney. He grew up in East Brunswick Township, New Jersey, where he attended East Brunswick High School.[1] He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School, and a former associate at the law firms of Drinker Biddle & Reath in Washington, D.C. and Parcher, Hayes & Liebman in New York City. He first became a talk show host at a Washington, D.C. radio station on the weekends while working at Drinker, before eventually shifting to full-time radio work.
