[edit] Early years

Houston played basketball, baseball and track & field while at Clarendon High School in Clarendon, Arkansas. He played in the first ever U.S. Army All-American Bowl on December 30th, 2000. He holds the Arkansas Activities Association record for career touchdowns with 97 from 1998-2000 at Clarendon High.

[edit] College career

Houston was a three-year starter at the University of Tennessee. He and Gerald Riggs, Jr. became the first players in Volunteers history to both amass 1,000 yards in the same season.

[edit] Professional career

After Curtis Martin went down with an injury in the 2nd half of the 2005 NFL season, Houston became the starter.

On July 26, 2007, one day before the start of training camp, Houston left the Jets for personal reasons[1]. A day later it was revealed that Houston was quitting football. Houston has returned to the University of Tennessee as a student and is finishing his degree.

Houston remained on the Jets' Reserve/Left Squad list the entire season and was eventually released on March 11, 2008.
