Castleshaw

Castleshaw is a hamlet in the Saddleworth parish of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester, England.

Main article: Rigodunum

There used to be a Roman fort called Rigodunum situated near to the head of the valley. Its remains are still visible to this day, on the edge of Castleshaw Upper Reservoir. An overhead view of the fort can be seen here.
