Caspar Wrede

baron Caspar Wrede (or Casper Wrede, February 8, 1929, Viipuri, Finland - September 25, 1998, Helsinki, Finland) was a Finnish film director.
Caspar Wrede came from a highly noble Finnish family, which owned large estates mainly in eastern Finland between 17th and 19th centuries, and had been created barons in 1652 by Queen Christina.
Known primarily for his screen version of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.
In 1976 founded the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester together with some other artistic directors.
