[edit] Importance?

I noticed that this article has twice been deleted and thrice created. I'm no expert on this subject at all, and after reading the article in its present form, I feel even less informed on the topic. Is this really a notable location in skateboarding culture, or is this an article about something made up while skateboarding when they should have been in school one day?   • It really is one of the most famous locations in the world for skateboarders. I'm from the Netherlands and it is really famous, all my skateboarding friends know about it. It even featured in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, so i think it is impotant enough for the site! J-Ros 14:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

School crazes, fads, and fashions can end up covered in Wikipedia, but only if someone first sits down and researches them, and publishes a book, an academic paper, or a magazine/journal article detailing that research. its definately famous. im a student at carlsbad high and i walk on it everyday. The problem is, their renovating the school and i dont know if its gonna be there that much longer.Lust4lyff 04:49, 22 March 2007 (UTC) It's real. I don't see the fascination with it, since there are countless other outdoor stairways with rails, but maybe it was the first one to be skated. I don't know, but it is very real. I lived in Carlsbad and have walked those steps.

[edit] Tricks section

The "tricks" section seems rather problematic to me. Most of the people listed there do not have articles, and I suspect many - if not most - are non-notable folks who added themselves into the article. Probably they should all be removed so we only have references to professional skateboarders with Wiki articles. Any objections?

Also the article needs to be much better sourced (I added a tag). Seems notable enough, but then presumably it has been discussed fully in books, magazines, or films about skateboarding which should be cited here using inline citations.--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 05:06, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
