Carter (artist)

John Carter is an American artist based in New York City, using the professional name Carter for his artworks. He was born in 1970 in Norwich, Connecticut[1]
Carter studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1992. He then studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1994, and the University of California, earning an MFA degree in 1997.
Carter’s work is in the contemporary genre, using various media such as painting, photographs, sculptural installations, and videos. [1] His works have been exhibited internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the USA Today exhibition, and the Saatchi Gallery of contemporary artworks in London, England.[2] His works have also been shown at the The Royal Academy in London.
Carter is represented by Jack Hanley Gallery in San Francisco, Hotel Gallery in London, Yvon Lambert in Paris and Salon 94 in New York.
