Carlos Loret de Mola Álvarez (b. October 17, 1976 in Mérida, Yucatán) is a Mexican talking head. He is one of the most popular news anchors in Mexico. He graduated with a degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). His father is the well known and important critical writer of Mexican politics and politicians, Rafael Loret de Mola. He is the a grandson of former governor of Yucatán, Carlos Loret de Mola Mediz.
He has been a correspondent of Televisa in Afghanistan covering the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, in Haiti covering the 2004 Haitian rebellion provoked by former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and in Banda Aceh, Indonesia he covered the tsunami disaster.
His professional trajectory has been recognized by Special Mention in the National Award of Journalism in 2001, the Journalism National Contest Award, during 2002, 2003 and 2004, also the Award of the National Anchor Association in 2002 and 2003.
He is currently the anchor of the morning news program Primero Noticias on the Televisa network. He's author of the book "El Negocio: La economía de México Atrapada por el Narcotráfico" (The Business: "The Mexican Economy Trapped by Drug Traffic").
