[edit] King Fahd International Airport

Hello. Thank you for your recent great work on the article. I believe it has been cleaned up now and no longer needs the clean-up tag. Looking forward to seeing more contributions. -- Eagleamn 07:01, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for admonishing User:207.99.39.86. I started to feel alone here ... Maikel 21:05, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Just edit the image description page, remove the {{no source}} tag, and add a link just like you did in my comment to where you got it. All images must have a source URL and a copyright tag :) --Admrb♉ltz (T | C) 17:00, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:4x rifle scope.jpg

What scope and with what rifle did you (or s.o. else) shot?--Sanandros 19:51, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

The scope is a Tasco I think, but I don't know which model. The rifle is a Winchester Model 70 chambered for .243. --Captaindan 08:44, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Internationalisation

Hi Captaindan,

Thank you for your message. As you could see from another message left on my page, I do know about the issue of possible change-of-meaning when it comes to replacing "airplane" with "aircraft"... and I have tried to be careful in those articles which would be rendered ambiguous (for example if a claim is made about the first plane to fly across the Atlantic, then yes, I am aware that to change it to "aircraft" would include things like airships, thus making it unclear). However, thank you for pointing out the things in Pilot certification in the United States which obviously slipped through the net. Maybe I should not have been doing that late at night :) As you can see, I did leave alone statements such as "Categories of aircraft are Airplane, Rotorcraft, Glider, Lighter-than-air, Powered-lift, Powered parachute, Weight-shift-control aircraft." - but evidently yes, there were a couple of other places where the replacement should not have been made. Thank you. I shall be even more careful in future.

I hope you can understand what I am trying to do here: since there is only one "en", English-language Wikipedia, which must be shared among all English-speaking people on the planet, it is not right that language used exclusively in the USA should be the dominant usage across the encyclopædia, for no other reason than that there are more Americans here than there are anyone else. But instead of changing it to "aeroplane", which would be silly, pointless and against WP policy, I am trying wherever possible to find international alternatives which are acceptable to everyone. I just need to be a bit more careful, that's all :) EuroSong talk 11:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and I clarified Critical engine. P.S... you own one of these? Excellent! EuroSong talk 11:24, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
No need for you to apologise! You were quite right to point out my mistake to me :) EuroSong talk 10:03, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

For the support, and yes, I knew your name looked familiar from somewhere. :)

It wouldn't be quite so bad if two of them weren't totally ignoring my requests to explain what link they do see between, say, the pilots' initial boarding of the wrong aircraft and the crash.--chris.lawson 00:54, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stanton's firing

I replied to your suggestion. I'll put in the Timeline of Largo history when I calm down a little. Steve was important in implementing the City of Progress. He is a fine city manager. However, the "City of Progress" was the late mayor Thom Feaster's (nore correctly, his brother George's) vision. If we were to go into that much depth in the main article, or the yet to be written History article, we would need to call it the Feaster Era.

I'm out of the loop these days, but I suspect the sex change was an excuse and not a reason. There were sure to have been other political forces in play. I'm surprised that he did not have better support from the council.

If you are a Largoan or knowledgeable about Largo, I would be glad to see you update the article and flesh it out a bit.

Has he gained sufficient notability for an article? If so, there is only so far I could go with writing it. (WP:NPOV, WP:SOAP) Cheers, :) MikeReichold 15:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I know almost nothing about Largo (my only connection to the city is indirectly through my employer) so I won't be much use in editing the article. And I should avoid writing an article about Stanton for the same reasons you cited (NPOV and SOAP).
I'm pretty annoyed. —Captaindan 15:45, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
