Bleed American is the fourth album by Jimmy Eat World. It was released on July 24, 2001, and became self-titled following the September 11, 2001 attacks, before reverting to its original name for a Deluxe Edition in 2008. The album was produced by Mark Trombino, who previously produced blink-182's first major label album, Dude Ranch. The album artwork is taken from William Eggleston's photograph "Memphis."
On April 29, 2008, a deluxe edition of the album was released with a bonus disc containing several b-sides, acoustic versions, live versions, demo versions and previously unreleased tracks. [1]
The album is certified Platinum by the RIAA, having sold around 1.5 million copies in the U.S. It is also certified Platinum by the CRIA[2] and Silver by the BPI.
