I removed the following content from the page, in case someone wants to start an article with it. I can't believe this lasted so long here, does no one understand that disambiguation pages are like entries in a book index??? —johndburger 02:34, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- February 6, 1851, when fires severely burnt Victoria, Australia and reports of the temperature reaching 117°F (or 47°C) in the capital of Melbourne, but since the Bureau of Meteorology had not been established, this has never been verified or considered official. These fires were the most severe in terms of size to hit Victoria in recorded history, burning 5 million hectares (50,000 square kilometres) or nearly one quarter of the state's land area.
