Bithynia tentaculata, also known as the mud bithynia or common bithynia, or faucet snail[1] is a relatively small species of freshwater snail, an aquatic prosobranch gastropod mollusk in the family Bithyniidae.

The species flourishes in calcium-rich waters, especially in rivers and lakes.

Height of shell: 8-11 (15) mm. Width of shell: 5-7 mm.
