To better meet the Manual of Style this should probably be changed to a single initial capital letter Big game hunter unless the video game is also meant (which would actually make for a more interesting article). The proliferation of video games about hunting is something that has long puzzled me... Certainly the subject matter does not merit two articles at the moment, but should fit within the Close Quarters Combat model for many years to come. - Rorybowman 20:55, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Big Game Hunter could be Title/Job/Profession therefore, it falls into a gray area and Capitals would be okay. Both articles have plenty of potential to expand, so separate articles would be acceptable. Cordially SirIsaacBrock 01:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Titles/jobs/professions are only capitalized when they are proper nouns - which Big Game Hunter clearly isn't (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization)). Looking at the examples in Category:Occupations, all non-proper-noun professions (that is, descriptions rather than titles) do not support second/third word capitalization. There's nothing gray about this area. I don't see any source that supports the all-capital usage, other than the video game. Gray area example: Certified General Accountant Certified Public Accountant Chartered accountant in my opinion it should be Chartered Accountant this is the correct usage. Cordially SirIsaacBrock 10:05, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Certified Public Accountant is a degree. You have to take an exam to become one. The only exam you have to take to become a big game hunter is to not get eaten by a tiger.--Mike Selinker 11:33, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Identifying proper nouns can be confusing sometimes, but there is no grey area in this case. The words attorney, patent attorney, hunter, quail hunter, and big game hunter are not proper nouns and are not capitalized. There are numerous guides on the internet, like this one, that enumerate all the cases in which non-proper nouns are capitalized. Take a look and you'll see that this does not fit the bill. ×Meegs 16:14, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
