This is the Albanian series of the world wide franchise of Big Brother. It launched on Saturday 23rd February, 2008, with fourteen Housemates entering the House. The show will run for 100 days and the winner will receive €50,000. This is the first season of Big Brother Albania while various programmes similar to this were organized 2-3 years ago.

Big Brother Albania airs on two cable channels 24 hours a day on the Digitalb cable network, as well as in two additional channels on Digitalb Mobile. Daily reviews are shown Monday thru Saturday on Top Channel at 17:55 CET. The elimination show airs Saturdays at 21:00 CET, while a weekly review closes off the week at 17:55 CET on Sunday afternoon.

The main host is Arbana Osmani, while Eno Popi receives the contestants in and out of the house and conducts interviews with their families. A panel of opinionists is present on the Saturday night show. Mevlan Shanaj, a film director, and Armand Peza, a screenwriter, have a permanent position in the panel, while different singers, psychologists and relevant art figures are invited every week to give their insight. One of the most notable guests is singer Jonida Maliqi who is known for her tough debates with eliminated contestants.

14 housemates entered as original members, while 4 others were introduced later in the game. The originals will receive the full prize if they are victorious, while the newcomers will only receive a proportional amount based on the days they have spent inside the house if they are to win at the end. Each member casts 2 nominations every Saturday along with 2 valid reasons for each nomination. Three or more people must face the public vote. The public then has one week to vote off the person that they think should be evicted. Five contestants made their way to the final where the public will be voting for the person that should win the big prize.

Romina is a 21 year old student in the Social Sciences Faculty in Tirana. She likes soccer, literature and movies. She became famous for the high amount of nominations she received from the other contestants while surviving 7 eliminations in a row. Romina was evicted on the 8th round of public voting.

Olsi is a 33 year old sales agent. He currently lives with his family, although he has spent time away from home since the age of 17 in Austria. Germany and UK. He likes to work out, play tennis, ride his bike with his friends as well as style his hair. Olsi had a girlfriend prior to entering the show, however she dumped him on live TV because he engaged in sexual activity with Najada, one of the other contestants. Olsi is the 1st runner-up of the first season of Big Brother Albania.

Leonard is a 27 year old painter who lives with his family. He worked for 5 years in Greece and continues his profession in Albania. He likes soccer and tennis, although he just likes to watch because his weight of 120 kgs does not allow him to play. He also likes to gamble and is a fan of "Ameline Moresmo", which is his way of saying Marilyn Monroe. Leonard was evicted on the 3rd round of public voting.

Pol is a 21 year old model who also studies in the Agricultural University Of Tirana. He has competed in various modeling competitions on the high school level as well as in Miss & Mister Albania, where he placed 3rd. He also won an award for Best Model in the Albanian clips awards show "Netët E Klipit Shqiptar". His hobbies are working out and swimming. Pol is very attached to his mom and his friends. Pol is the 4th runner-up of the first season of Big Brother Albania.

Najada is a 22-year-old art painter who is in her junior year of studies at the Arts Academy in Tirana. Painting is her biggest passion. She has many tattoos and plans to have more. Her most famous tattoo is the Albanian double-headed eagle on her cleavage area. She spends her free time hanging out with friends and playing pool. Najada is the 3rd runner-up of the first season of Big Brother Albania.

Ingrid is a 29 year old mother of two girls who works in an electrical supplies company. She likes to go out fishing as a way to relax, as well as horse riding. She used to love skiing and biking but has settled ever since she became a mother. Ingrid was first to be eliminated from the public vote.

Astrit is a 35 year old family guy who lives in one of the villages near Tirana. He has a wife and son and although he owns a home in the city, he has chosen to live in a village because of the tranquility and freshness that it brings to his life. He also enjoys the good interaction within the community and works in a small bar which he owns, apart from the usual farm duties. Astrit is the 2nd runner-up of the first season of Big Brother Albania.

Arbër is a 21 year old political sciences and international relations student at the University of Bari in Italy together with his girlfriend Maddalena. He has lived in Italy for more than 10 years. One of his biggest passions is nature and related community projects. He has helped expand green spaces in Tirana and has also participated in a project to re-build a school in an Albanian village. If he wins, he wants to donate the entire prize money to people that need it more than him. Arbër is the winner of the first season of Big Brother Albania.

Julinda is 23 years old and works at a bank in Tirana, although her family lives in Fier. She likes ice-skating, reading, dancing and sports. She is a crazy fan of the A.C. Milan soccer team. She views herself as very optimistic. Julinda was evicted on the 6th round of public voting.

Juna is a 20 year old singer who also studies at the Agricultural University of Tirana, majoring in Finance and Accounting. She is very close with her mother who has helped her enter the show. Friends are an important part of her life, as well as music. She has participated twice in Top Fest, a song contest by Top Channel, where she was nominated for "Best New Artist". Shopping and fashion are also very important to her. Juna was evicted on the 2nd round of public voting.

Shkëlqim is a 38 year old father of two who has graduated from the Arben Zylyftari Police Academy in Tirana. He loves music and bowling with his family. He currently works in a private company in a job involving public relations, while at the same time being involved in an organisation that helps the Roma community integrate. Shkëlqim was evicted on the 7th round of public voting.

Ina is a 24 year old girl who works at a boutique. She lives with her parents and loves to walk in the park, cook and sleep. It is important for her to take care of herself so she goes to the spa frequently. Ina was evicted on the 5th round of public voting.

Ervis is a 23 year old guy who studies politcial sciences in the University of Tirana as well as public relations and communications in a private university. He has a hard time waking up in the morning and must spend a lot of time in front of the mirror every day. He handles many important activities, one of them is getting people to donate blood for children with thalassemia. In his free time he goes to different bars and also night clubs during the weekends. Prior to being evicted, Ervis made a joke about having worked as a gigolo. He blamed this joke for his elimination. Ervis was evicted on the 4th round of public voting.

Besarta is a 20 year old girl from Kosovo who studies Economics at the FAMA College. She lives with her family and her hobby is to design clothes. She also loves to hang out with her friends. Besarta was evicted on the 9th round of public voting.

Mardiola is a 25 year old mother who attends a private law school and is very devoted to her studies. She also works part-time in an accounting firm. She has a 7 year old girl and a husband which she loves dearly. She likes running by the sea to relax from the busy day. Mardiola had a small scale fight with Julinda and wanted to walk off the show but the other guests convinced her to stay. Mardiola walked off the show before the staff could officially eject her after a fight she had with Ilda over a series of provocations from both sides. The girls threw glasses and plates at each other before the other housemates broke them up.

Ilda is a 22 year old girl who has lived in Boston, Massachusetts for 11 years where she has studied finances and worked in a bank. She currently lives in Tirana. Her hobbies are sports, music, photography, shopping, swimming and reading when she's sad. Travelling is one of her favorite things and apart from many places in the USA, she has been in many European capitals. Ilda was ejected from the show after a fight she had with Mardiola over a series of provocations from both sides. The girls threw glasses and plates at each other before the other housemates broke them up.

Jonida is a 25 year old girl who works as a host in a radio and has finished her studies for journalism. She is very connected with her family and asks for their advice in everything. She loves to cook and shop. Her biggest obsession are parfumes and her looks and spends a good part of her time at the hairdresser. Jonida was evicted on the 11th round of public voting.

Dorina is a 22 year old girl who studies sociology at the Social Sciences Faculty in Tirana. Since her family lives in Korça she misses them a lot and tries to visit them as much as possible. She likes to cook, read and travel as well as go out in various pubs during the weekends. Dorina was evicted on the 10th round of public voting.
