I belong to the community 'Bhalavalikar/Rajapur Gaud Saraswat Brahmins' which has been reffered in the above PDF file. I really wonder the name 'BHALAVALI BHASAHA' used in the reasearch paper. The community was orginally migrated from GOA and their mother toungue was Goan Konkani. After migrating to Bhalavali/Rajapur, their language got many Marathi words in it. Still Community call their mother toungue as Konkani ('Konkne' - in their own dialect). Konkani itself has many versions, Goan Konkani, North Kanara, SOuth Canara (Place in Karnataka), Kerala Konkani, Christian Konkani. SO to call Bhalavalikar Gaud Saraswat's language as 'BHALAVALI BHASHA' is very surprising. Ask any member of the community of Bhalavalikar's they never ever would have heard the name called 'Bhalavali Bhasha'
Is this for some vested interest of the researcher so as to have tag of having discovered a new language..??

Let me at first thank you for showing concern for the language in question. And let me assure that I have no vested interested as such to tag the language spoken by Bhalavalikar's as a newly discovered language "Bhalavali Bhasha". Neither have I made any such discovery, nor do I claim to make a discovery anywhere in my research paper.
This particular research was carried out in the Dept of Linguistics, University of Delhi to find out the Typological Features of "Bhalavali Bhasha". As you know, when we do a typological analysis of a language, we try to find out the general features of the language concerned. We are not much concerned about the "naming process" - the "naming" is done either on the basis of the land where the language concerned is spoken or the people who speak it.
The language could easily have been coded on the basis of other parameters - say on the basis of Latitudes and Longitudes - but that could have made the whole process too technical. By now, more than 5000 languages have been identified by the linguists world over, and the count goes on! We are least concerned in the "naming/tagging" process - our main aim is to find out the typological features of a language X at different linguistic levels, namely Phonological, Morphological and Syntactic.
Once we find that a particular language X has got different (rather unique) Phonological, Morphological and Syntactic characteristics then a detailed analysis is carried out and then only any "naming" (if needed) is done. This naming is not necessarily done by the Linguists, for there may be political, cultural,etc. views that must be taken into account. Till then any "naming" as such is only ad-hoc, which is used for reference purposes only.

ITS NOT GOOD TO CREATE AN ARTICLE WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE. OTHERWISE ASK SOME PERSON OF OUR COMMUNITY ABOUT THIS. I REQUEST U TO DELETE THIS ARTICLE OR CHANGE THE HEADING AS KONKANI OF RAJAPUR/BALAVALIKAR SARASWAT BRAHMINS.PLEASE DONT CREATE YOUR OWN LANGUAGE SO THAT IT HURTS COMMUNITY FEELINGS.CAN U GIVE THE CONTAVT ADDRESS OF VARIJA. Nice to hear some concern over the language concerned. But let me assure you that this "naming" is done due to linguistic reasons only. We have no intent nor any right to name a language.
We name it for our reference purposes only. And that is why the article which you are talking about is intended for a particular community of linguists the world over.
