It is perhaps more important to note that the community of students, parents, and teachers at Berwick is extremely close-knit, and one of the hallmarks of a Berwick education is the fact that it takes place with the support of this community.

a disputed opinion.

Beware of mathmagician, he has the mistaken opinion that Mr. Ridgeway is not dead.

Mathmagician vandalized again , please don't pay attention to him.

dbottino is right, all boot mathmagician!

Actually, even though Ridgeway is dead, he is still the officil headmaster, even though right now its being governed by the board of trustees.

It is a pretty odd claim. If someone really needs to provide a reference to support it. Monty845 22:28, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I am an 8th grade student at berwick academy. I know that this is true. it sounds weird, but Mr. Ridgeway passed away last winter. they are currently looking for a replacement. He is headmaster in name only, since hes dead dbottino

I have a source to prove that ridgeway is dead : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Kirby_Ridgeway

Please put him back in as headmaster, i can't figure out how to. :(

dbottino

Check the reference. It says Ridgeway died in 1924. Kinda undercuts the argument, doesn't it? -Ebyabe 23:08, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
When I looked it was saying he died in october 2007. Bit fishey... -- Monty845 23:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
In addition to the fact that your referenced article was vandalised to fit your assertion, other wiki articles are not valid references. -- Monty845 23:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I fixed the obvious vandalism to that article. It was a different guy. And the school's official site says Ridgway is retiring, and the following:

RRR - Ridgway Retirement Roundup on Saturday, May 12th, 2007!

I know some people think retiring is the same as death, but it isn't. He's alive. Now, can we, just possibly, all act like grownups? Or am I just setting my hopes too high? *sigh* Btw, thanks for your help, Monty. :) --Ebyabe 23:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ridgway

In response to some the apperent vandalism regarding the Headmaster, I tried to find what information I could on him. I was unable to find any information confirming his death. When exactly is it alleged to have happened? There is information showing the school is hiring a new head, but that hardly confirms that the old one is dead. If he is dead, I suggest checking the website of your local paper for an obiturary. -- Monty845 23:17, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

oh okay he's not dead. could someone put him back?

dbottino

Does everybody agree with my edit on the tablet program?

dbottio

Richard "Hap" (hehehe, his nickname is Hap) Ridgeway is is indeed in retirement somewhere in WYOMING with his wife. ~Frumentarius. (Dbottino, do your research first, k?)

[edit] NPOV

I went through and revise the entire article for style and NPOV. Also added some other alumni. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.243.9.242 -(PCM) 18:23, 14 May 2007 (UTC).

What's wrong about saying the tablets were bought for academic reasons. Its true! Dbottino 17:07, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Berwick Logo.jpg

Image:Berwick Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Are you just being obtuse as an intellectual exercise? When available, such logos are routinely used on Wiki pages relating to academic institutions; pick a dozen well-known prep schools or universities and see for yourself. Logos are widely accepted as transformative additions which add to the overall public benefit of Wikipedia information. And certainly the schools themselves do not object to their use here. No case-specific fair use rationale should be necessary. -->PCM 15:02, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
