I learned a sentence with 5 had's in English class. Here is an explanation:

There was a couple who could have no children. So they needed to find a woman willing to have a baby for them. They had had their child had.. One day they that child misbehaved and had had no breakfast. Thus:
The child the parents had had had had had no breakfast.

I know I saw someone do a 6-had sentence once, and it was without resorting to the use/mention thing, but I dont remember it. Perhaps it was some sort of Buffalo type embedding, but Ive asked him if he can remember it and even he doesnt remembre it now. Haplolology ^Talk/_{Contributions} 20:49, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
