Alexander Lasutkin and Sergei Dolidovich were both scheduled to compete in the Men’s 30 km pursuit. However, before the Olympics a blood test showed too much hemoglobin in their blood, and they were suspended from competing for five days. [1] They also did not compete in the Men’s team sprint competition.

Belarus did not qualify in the mens hockey tournament due to the country placing second at the Qualification tournament held in February of 2005. The host nation of the tournament, Latvia beat Belarus and the nations of Poland and Slovenia to take one of three seeds available for the 2006 Olympic Games. Belarus took second place by beating Poland and Slovenia. [2]
