Does anyone know who the traitor was (mentioned in the last paragrpah) I cannot find any evidence of this from other sources and would be interested to know.

According to Balleine, Moyse Corbet was arrested and court-martialled. The pilot who betrayed the route through the rocks was named Journeaux (no first name given). If I remember correctly Édouard(?) Millais was also suspected of treachery, but I'd have to check that in Mayne in the library. Man vyi 09:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

According to Mayne, Pierre Journeaux and Édouard Millais were detained following the discovery of papers held by de Rullecourt. Millais was released in May 1781 due to lack of evidence. Man vyi 16:03, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

The Battle of Jersey is often claimed [1] in Jersey as the last battle on British soil. Most people in Jersey believe Jersey to be British soil - hence the claim. Is there an alternative claimant to the title? Man vyi 15:22, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

But the "Last invasion of Britain" was later. Was it a battle or a skirmish, though? The varying definitions give rise to differing claims - the encyclopaedic thing is to find the correct form of words to convey the nature of the claim. Man vyi 16:28, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that's true. I don't think the Invasion really counts as a battle however --AW 16:35, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I personally don't care whether it's the last on British soil or not, but in the face of objections to mentioning the claim, I've attempted to define it through the use of British Islands. It's not what is claimed but it may be what is meant. Alternatives? Man vyi 14:26, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Forgive my ignorance, and I hope someone's keeping a watch on this page, but what's the relevance of the American war in the lede? There's no mention of it in the article, and I can't really see why it should be mentioned here. Was it a case of the French trying to help out the colonials? Mèrcie bein des fais.
