[edit] Date of Birth

I have just came across a possible inconsistency. Encyclopedia Titanica, a well-known and respectable site dedicated to all things Titanic, has Barbara's date of birth as May 24th, however under her father's biography, her date of birth is listed as March 11th. I know most sites have Barbara's date of birth as May 24th, but I wonder if there are more sources available to support this. I will try contacting Encyclopedia Titanica and see what I can find out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadow2700 (talkcontribs) 15:37, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Age at sinking

CNN reports she was two months old. Have we got the wrong birth date?[1][2]

  • Everywhere else I've seen it, she is listed as about ten months old. I think you have her confused with Millvina Dean, who was two months old. Morhange 05:30, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
    • You say "everywhere else" but you provide no sources. You say I might be confused, but I provide sources. Rklawton 13:15, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
      • Er, sorry. I meant "everywhere else" as in passenger lists and articles about the disaster. For example, her birthdate is listed at her entry at the Encyclopedia Titanica, here and browsing through the google news results will give plenty of places indicating either her birthdate as May 1911, or her age at the sinking as 10 months. • Gees, I really did have them switched! Sorry about that. Rklawton 05:03, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

____________ I'm not happy about her death, but Am very glad Ms. Dean has outlived her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.188.174 (talk) 13:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:West35456.jpg

Image:West35456.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

- indeed. And reading the obituary of this "intensely private" woman I feel deletion would be respectful as well as in accordance with the fair use criteria. I'll delete it by Friday 9th May if no one can specify the fair use rationale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SeamusSweeney (talkcontribs) 11:24, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
