Barking Riverside DLR station is a proposed station on the Docklands Light Railway near Barking, East London. The exact construction and opening dates of the station are not yet clear[1].
If opened it will be a part of the new Dagenham Dock extension which will see the line extended from near its existing terminus at Beckton DLR station along a newly constructed line to terminate at the National Rail stop at Dagenham Dock station. It is planned to coincide with several large redevelopments schemes in the area, particularly the construction of new residential sites tied in with the Thames Gateway project.
The Mayor of London had been keen to open the new route in time for the 2012 Olympic Games, but owing to the numerous over transport infrastructure upgrades this does not appear particularly practicable and the current timescale of a 2017 opening looks likely.
