Can anyone tell the actual 'Name' of 'Time Zone' of Bangladesh?
Is it
BST = Bangladesh Standard Time ?
or
BDT = Bangladesh Time?
With is Correct?

Bangladesh Standard Time (BST) is more commonly used and should be treated as the correct specification. Note that this terminology is supported by authoritative Bangladeshi sources including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh [1], Parliament of Bangladesh [2] as well as reputed international sources like IBM [3] and BBC [4]. The only remarkable use of the abbreviation "BDT" to refer to the time zone that I could find is from world time zones website [5] but I doubt whether this is a reliable source.
While "Bangladesh Time" can be treated as an acceptable alternative for "Bangladesh Standard Time", the abbreviation BDT is unquestionably reserved by ISO to represent the currency (Bangladesh Taka) [6]. Hence, to avoid confusion while refering to the time zone Bangladesh Standard Time (BST) is the more appropriate use. Regards, Arman (Talk) 09:43, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
