"B.U.D.D.Y." is the first single from Musiq Soulchild's fourth album Luvanmusiq. It was released on January 30, 2007, after being serviced to radios in the US in late November.
It debuted on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on December 16, 2006 at #75; in its 16th week on the chart, on March 31, 2007, the single reached #2, where it stayed for four consecutive weeks. "B.U.D.D.Y." entered the Billboard Hot 100 on February 10, 2007 at #100, and reached its peak position at #36 on April 7, 2007, in its 9th week on the tally. The song samples "Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner. A music video has been made for this song and can be viewed on YouTube.
The song was given a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance
