AuSM

AuSM (The Auckland Students' Movement @ AUT) is the Students' association for students at the Auckland University of Technology, in Auckland, New Zealand.

The association owns and operates the campus' student bar Vesbar, as well as providing services to the students and organising major events on campus such as the two-week long Orientation festival which occurs at the beginning of each academic year. The President of AuSM for 2007 and 2008 is Jan Herman,^[1] taking over from Paul Stewart who was president in 2005 and 2006.

AuSM is run by students, for students, it is there to represent and serve it's student's through a range of services developed to improve student's time at university. Other services include a a student magazine known as Debate,^[2] advocacy and legal information, events, lodge bookings, discounted bus and train tickets, and student job search.

Mission Statement
"The Auckland Student Movement exists to provide a support network for its members, to be their voice at all levels and provide services to improve the quality of student life at Auckland University of Technology."^[3]
