Nowhere does this article discuss he fanatical anti-Conservative position. It does not mention his murdering spree in Masaya and Carazo, nor the raping and pillaging of conservative-owned farms in Estelí and other parts of the Segovias. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.184.40.53 (talk) 00:48, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

The paragraph that begins "Sandino liked to slice up his enemies while they were still alive ..." feels very out of place for a number of reasons:

  1. it doesn't relate to the previous paragraph
  2. it doesn't make any citations
  3. "slice up" doesn't seem like language appropriate for an encyclopedia

I don't know the history so I can't make any changes, but I'd appreciate it if someone who does could review the paragraph and make any changes they deem appropriate. Thanks. Tobias.mcnulty 23:38, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with this observation. I know a bit of the history and have never heard of this. I believe that during Sandino's time in Nicaragua one of his men was beheaded in Masaya (Umanzor was his name) by the US Marines and his head was dispayed in public by the troops. There should be a great deal of history around the atrocities committed during this time. I will remove this paragraph until it can be cited properly.--Agrofe 23:57, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Marines-nicaragua.jpg

Image:Marines-nicaragua.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
