Audrey Long

Audrey Long (born April 12, 1922 in Orlando, Florida) was a movie actress who specialized in playing blonde, beautiful, good girls in movies of the 1940s and 50s. Married Edward Rubin in January 1945, divorced April 1951. She later married Leslie Charteris, creator of The Saint books and movies, in April 1952 until his death in April 1993. Audrey's last movie was releasd in January 1952, after which she retired from acting. In 1947 Long appeared in two classic films noir: Desperate with Steve Brodie and Born to Kill playing Claire Trevor's sister and Lawrence Tierney's wife. She also appeared uncredited in Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942). Audrey played leads or major supporting characters in 26 of the 33 movies she appeared in.
