Atlantis FC is a Finnish football club, based in Helsinki. It currently plays in the second tier of Finnish football (Ykkönen). It was founded late 1995 when 1980 founded Johanneksen Dynamo and 1985 FC Norssi merged. The name "Atlantis FC was invented by Gösta Sundqvist, singer of Leevi and the Leavings.
Team started to play in the third tier (Kakkonen) in 1996 and in 1997 they were promoted to Ykkönen. In 1999 the club reached the playoffs for the premier league (Veikkausliiga, betting league) but lost to Vaasan Palloseura. The following year they reached Veikkausliiga. In 2001 Atlantis was seventh in league and won the cup of Finland.
The club had financial difficulties and went bankrupt 2002 and their place in premium league was given to AC Allianssi. Reserve team of the club Atlantis Akatemia (Atlantis Academy) still continued in second division. 2003 it changed its' name to Atlantis FC and 2004 club raised to Ykkönen. 2007 it tries to reach premium league again.
Atlantis' current manager is Markku Ritala, coach is Ville Lyytikäinen and they play their home matches at Helsingin Pallokenttä.
