Asunción Ortega Vidal (born October 8, 1981), is a Spanish actress and model.

[edit] Early life and acting career
Ortega was born as Asunción Ortega Vidal in Murcia, Spain, she is one of 5 siblings.Her father died when she was 15 on March 13th, 1997.[2] She is fluent in Spanish, German and English. She also speaks some Dutch and Portuguese.[3] Ortega attended the Ivana Chubbuck Studio and studied acting with star Patricia Velasquez.[4]
In the beginning of 2007 and before enrolling in acting classes with Ivana she was one of the 10 finalists in the well-known acting Spanish contest Casting Online Fotogramas.[5] In 2008 she was once again one of the 10 finalists in Casting Online Fotogramas.[6]
Her debut was in the film Chicano Blood directed by Damian Chapa in 2007.[7] Right after she had a supporting but very intense role in the feature film Mi Padre directed by Giancarlo Candiano.[8][9][10]
She has worked with film directors such as Michael Ojeda (Police Code,2007),[11]Samson Crouppen (Bikini Killers Club,Episode 1,2008),[12] Evan Georgiades (God's Complex,2008)) and in TV commercials like the one she just recently made in the USA for Ford Focus with director Gerard Smith[3] and others tv spots such as CortinaHogar,televised in Antena3 TV (Spain).[13]
[edit] Plagiarism accusation
In the beginning of 2007 Ortega was accused of copying the video of another contestant in the Casting Online Fotogramas contest.The actress who accused her was Silvia Giner and her video was an extract from the short film La Nevera (2002).Giner claimed Ortega of using her ideas to create the video that later on resulted as one of the 10 finalists in the contest.[14][15]
The scandal was spread over the Internet by several critics in the industry who also wrote articles about the accusation.[16][17]

In 2005 Ortega traveled around Spain and Europe to work as a print model.
In 2005 and 2006 she worked with artist-photographer EcceHomo[18] in Madrid, who also included her in his internationally published book SkinFlowers.[19]
She has also worked with many other good photographers such as Juan Ramón D.Pintado[20][21][22],Pepe Saura[23][24],Oscar Vázquez Chambó in Valencia who included her in his exposition at the well-known art gallery Ibalart (Valencia-Spain),[25][26][27],Juan Del Rosario in Barcelona,[28],Felipe Medina in Madrid,who handles the national photography website Fotoebora[29] and who included her in his nationally published book La psicología en fotografía de modelaje,[19][30]Rafa Canelas in Madrid [31][32] and recognized Spanish artists such as Javier Arizabalo.[33][34]
Appeared in magazines like Femjoy,[35]Glove Mansion,[36] Torrid Art,[37]NenaBlue,[38] and Bellisimas.[39]
Her images has been showcased in the international recognized website One Model Place.[40]

Ortega enjoys travelling, writing,painting, and reading. She defines herself as a very creative, open minded and friendly person.[1]
Ortega has been linked with Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys.[41][42] She is married and lives in the city of Los Angeles.[1]
