[edit] Valéry Giscard d'Estaing

The tax collector in the book has similarity to Giscard d'Estaing: what similarities? Ynot en 10:59, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

He's a caricature of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (albeit a particularly unflattering one) presumably the authors did not agree with his politics ... --Invisifan 16:23, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I never found that he was, I took another look and definitely don't think that he is supposed to be. Uderzo was/is quite good at caricaturing, that's why I write "supposed to be": the tax collector does not have Giscard's ears, nose, chin mouth, forefront, he is short and crouched, Giscard is tall and erect.
