Asonica is an electronica outfit from Los Angeles, California led by Justin Park. Asonica formed in 2004 and has since produced one EP to date.
[edit] History
Asonica was formed by Justin Park after dissolving his acoustic outfit, A Matter of Politics, in favor of a more electronic flair in late 2004. Initially created as a side project during A Matter of Politics' hiatus, Asonica soon became the main focus as experimentation and alternative ideas surged creative interest. In 2005, Asonica completed an EP entitled 3 Shades of Orange consisting of two originals and a "reinterpreted" composition. Although the EP was never officially released through a record label, it is available in its entirety for streaming on the official website on MySpace. Shortly afterwards, during the Fall of that year, Asonica was commissioned to perform at the Emergenza Music Festival, but had declined, citing technical and performance issues. Asonica remained inactive throughout 2006, with Justin Park stating that he had "worked on various tunes...all of which have failed to satisfy [him]" [1] and had put a hiatus into effect, stressing that Asonica is anything but disbanded.
