I've made a start on this. There is much more to put in. I didn't start the War of Independence section, which would be quite large if the words of an IRA recruiter in Kerry at the time- to the effect that he wouldn't bother going looking for men anywhere in Kerry where there were no mountains- are to be believed. And then we have Seán Ó Briain, the school teacher from Baile an Fheirtéaraigh who was Brendan Behan's mentor and teacher of Irish during their times in prison for IRA activity. I've posted this article in the last week or so, and put some comment on your talk page. I wonder if you could post a non-copyright-vio photo there of the view from the Dingle peninsula down to the Great Blasket (showing the gap to an Carraig Fhada). Hello. About the monument at Dún an Óir, when was it built? To judge by the style of it, sometime in the 20th century. Whose idea was it, and who was the sculptor? Thanks for any info. 206.168.224.66 21:02, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Clíodhna Cussen designed it. She is the wife of the writer Pádraig Ó Snodaigh and the mother of both Rónán Ó Snodaigh of Kíla and Aengus Ó Snodaigh, the Sinn Féin TD. Don't know any more than that. Hope that helps. 86.42.97.195 18:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
