Arden School is a secondary school located in the Knowle area of Solihull in the West Midlands, England. It teaches mainly Modern Foreign Languages such as French and Chinese, as a result of the school receiving language college status by the Department for Education and Skills in 1996. The school is divided into several years and, as is normal, pupils choose the GCSE options in Year 9. As of 2006, it has 1,238 pupils on roll.
Arden has a sports department which practises a variety of sports including Basketball, Rugby Union and Netball. Arden also has a new life drama department which has received the Artsmark gold award. Recently, Arden has staged productions of The Crucible in 2005, Grease in 2006 and Blood Wedding in late 2006. The next production will be We Will Rock You a musical based on the songs by Queen, and this will be shown in March 2008.
As of 2006 there was a 'Post 16 Centre' installed and the first trial year group will finish in summer 2008.
