Arcade emulator
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An arcade emulator is a program that emulates one or more arcade games on a different computer, such as a PC.
Sparcade (written by David Spicer) was perhaps the first PC-based multiple arcade emulator. Sparcade's first version was released sometime in 1995, a whole 2 years before MAME, which (along with its variants) now dominates arcade emulation.
See the List of emulators for examples of arcade emulators.
