AntiProduct (pronounced /ˈæntaɪprɒdəkt/ or /ˈæntiprɒdəkt/) are a UK-based glam punk band, fronted by Alex Kane, formerly of Clam Abuse, Enuff Z'nuff and Life, Sex & Death.[1]
The band formed in 2000, and have played alongside acts such as Rachel Stamp, The Wildhearts, Ginger, The Quireboys, Enuff Z'Nuff, Electric Eel Shock, Tyla from Dogs D'Amour, Murderdolls, Trashlight Vision and Sigue Sigue Sputnik. They have also played as the backing band for Marky Ramone. AntiProduct performed at Ozzfest in 2002 at its Donington, Dublin, Prague and Nijmegen locations.
AntiProduct cite their influences as being ABBA, Cheap Trick, KISS, Slayer and The Ramones.[2]. The band have a distinct stage presence, using day-glo and ultra-violet light as much as possible, and Kane dressing up in bizarre costumes. Kane will often go into the crowd during performances. Their catch-song is "Bungee Jumping People Die" which the audience joins in on, repeating the title-phrase almost ad infinitum until the band go into the Chorus of "I wouldn't mind if I could find my place in life..."
They are easily confused with Anti-Product, especially as both are punk bands with an anarchic theme. Furthermore, both bands are known for having female members.
