Anglo-American School of Moscow

The Anglo-American School of Moscow in Moscow, Russia, is run by the American, British and Canadian embassies. Originally intended for the children of their own diplomats, the school is now open to the children of diplomats, businessmen, and others. It covers the full age range from ages 4 to 18. It was founded in 1949 and is located on a wooded campus in North West Moscow adjacent to the gated community Pokrovsky Hills. There are over 1,250 pupils.
First priority is given to the children of American, British and Canadian diplomats, second priority is given to children whose parents work for a company or organization that has reserved seats. Any remaining places are available to any child who meets the general admission requirements, while limiting to 15% the number of students from any one country except the US, UK and Canada. The school offers the International Baccalaureate.
The school also has many facilities such as the newly completed pool the "Bolshoi theater", two gym's and two libraries.Both the pool and the theater were just finished in the year 2007. In addition the high school was expanded by the completion of the fifth floor math department. No further expansions are planned.
The current director is drew alexander, who has been head of the school for several years.

While the school is subsidized by the embassies that run it. A huge percentage of its budget comes from grants and a staggering tuition of nearly 32,000 dollars a year.
