Alyx has recently become a popular spelling of the name Alex. The feminine spelling of Alex.
Alyx can also refer to several fictional characters:
- Alyx is the first name of Alyx Vance, a leading character in the Half-Life 2 world.
- Alyx is the name of a major character in a popular fantasy series "The DragonCrown War Cycle" written by Michael A. Stackpole. She is known as the Gold Wolf and leads a band of warriors (known as Wolves) to oppose the evils of Chytrine, the major antagonist.
- Alyx is also the name of a heroine in the feminist science fiction anthology The Adventures of Alyx by Joanna Russ.
- Alyx is the name of a sentient planet in the science fiction short story by Murray Leinster.
