Alpha Sagittarii (α Sgr / α Sagittarii) is a star in the constellation of Sagittarius. It also has the traditional names Rukbat and Alrami, derived from the Arabic Ar-Rukbah Ar-Rāmi = the knee of the archer
Rukbat is a blue, class B dwarf star. It is not particularly bright, with a magnitude of +3.96.
