[edit] A concern and plea for help

I wish to address a minor concern here. Notice that all the featured portals on Wikipedia are linked to a Portal namespace. But the edit links in the portal boxes link to a template namespace. For more information about this, please read this subsection. For further explanation about this anomaly please read this comment by User Redux. We should strive to be as consistent as possible about this and I am attempting to change this in all affected portals if I have the time. Help is needed here, so if anyone else has the time, they are encouraged to fix this as well. --Siva1979^{Talk to me} 13:54, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

I have finally made the first correction on this. Subsequently, all Templates dealing with Wikiportals should be deleted as well. The correct link from this page should be a portal page and not a template namespace. I intend to correct all of this if I have the time. This situation only arises in older portal pages. Any editor who wishes to help me in this would be welcomed! In conclusion, I expect an admin to delete these template pages in the near future if this is fixed. --Siva1979^{Talk to me} 17:30, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I have finally linked this page to the proper sub-portals. But more work needs to be done in removing the redundent edit options within the smaller portals. For example, most of these contain two edit options which I feel is unnecessary. Once these are fixed and the red-linked articles are created, I believe that this portal have a good chance of becoming a featured one. --Siva1979^{Talk to me} 04:25, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

I have a question concerning Jamila/Djamila Bouhired... Wikipedia states that she was born in 1935, and does not state any date of death. What got into my attention was an arabic forum that announced Mrs. Jamila's death a couple of months ago, while I didn't see any edit in Jamila's article in wikipedia (neither in its french nor in its english version, and there's no article for Jamila in the arabic version of wikipedia). So I'm asking my fellow Algerian Wikipedians (and anyone who might know), if the news concerning her death is true, when was the exact date of her death, and of course an edit to her article, since she is a crucial political and symbolic heroine for Algeria's independence, Sincerely. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.216.207.103 (talk) 21:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC).
