Alexandria (Lexie) Karlsen is an American model who is the only one to be a Playboy Playmate, Penthouse Pet, Perfect 10 model and represented by mainstream FORD Agency FORD/RBA as well. Currently, she is a host on "The Nude View", broadcast on pay channel Vavoom launching July 1st. Karlsen also hosts a dating and sex advice show on Vavoom's website, a takeoff on her book, "The Divorced Guy's Guide to Dating." Vavoom TV
With a background in journalism and finance, Karlsen has been described as a brainy adult model. At age 15, Karlsen began writing for then what was The Phoenix Gazette / Arizona Republic and also Tribune Newspapers in Arizona as a student correspondent reporter. [1]At age 18, Karlsen obtained her Series 6 and Series 63 licenses and worked for Vanguard before beginning to model full time.
She began posing nude on a "amateur" web site under the name "Rachelle"[2], and then under her own name for Perfect 10 magazine in their summer 1997 premiere issue, and was selected Playboy Playmate of the Month for March, 1999. Her centerfold was photographed by Arny Freytag and Stephen Wayda. Lexie has appeared in several Playboy videos and special editions, working steadily for Playboy for more than three years following her centerfold appearance. In 2001, Karlsen started writing a regular column on love and dating for Perfect 10. Karlsen has also been featured in the November 2002 issue of Stuff magazine in the layout titled "A Day in the Life of a Centerfold".
Karlsen appeared in Playboy's rival publication, Penthouse magazine, as its Pet of the Month for July 2006. Her appearance in Penthouse made her only the third adult model to be selected as both a Playboy Playmate and a Penthouse Pet, following only Linn Thomas and Victoria Zdrok.
Karlsen has appeared in numerous mainstream magazines, including Stuff (US), on the cover of Stuff (UK), in Maxim, on Beverly Hills 213, in Scottsdale magazine, in Phoenix magazine, and numerous other catalogs, editorial and print. She is one of the few nude models who also works extensively in the mainstream market.
In addition to her work with men's magazines, Karlsen was regularly featured on the FX channel's The X Show, UPN's Battle Dome, and as a try-out Barker Beauty on five episodes of CBS's The Price Is Right show. She has also worked on shows such as Ripley's Believe It or Not, Talk Soup, The Late Late Show, The Tonight Show, and others.
She has also authored a book titled The Divorced Guy's Guide to Dating: How to Meet More Women plus many other columns and articles for other magazines.
In 2007, the Wall Street Journal reported that federal prosecutors charged Philadelphia businessman Andrew Yao with lying about his relationship with Karlsen to a grand jury investigating larger charges of fraud and money laundering; Yao gave Karlsen $650,000 via wire transfer, which he claimed was for airplanes and a movie deal, but Karlsen says it was a gift as she had dated Yao for four months.[3] Testimony at Yao's trial showed that he was also dating Erica Jiles a/k/a Juliet Cariaga (Penthouse Pet of the Millenium) and two other unnamed former Playboy Playmates in the same timeframe, each of whom received cash and gifts from Yao in excess of $10,000. Karlsen was the prosecution's star witness. Yao's gifts to her, including the wire transfers from his company accounts, jewelry, an automobile and a house, totaled nearly $1 million. [4] [5] Yao was married with three young children at the time, although Karlsen says Yao told her he was in divorce proceedings. Yao was later convicted for lying and was sentenced to a year in prison. [6] Currently, Yao is being tried in Philadelphia for lying to obtain more than $37 Million in loans.
Karlsen is the daughter of Thomas Karlsen, long-time Campaign Treasurer for Arizona Senator Dennis DeConcini, was convicted in 1989 of embezzling approximately $500,000 in campaign funds, and was sentenced to serve 20 months in prison. [7][8] Karlsen was 10 years old at the time. Thomas Karlsen later died in October 2002 from chirrosis of the liver.
