[edit] Copyright issue

This page contains lines lifted directly from copyrighted work. For example, paragraph 7 of the Anastasia page http://www.carpenoctem.tv/mafia/anastasia.html begins with "Anastasia's violent ways..."; the same sentence is found in the wikipedia entry in the first paragraph of the "Boss" section. Furthermore, there are several sentences in the wikipedia entry where only one word is changed--although perhaps not strict plagarism, such copying and very limited modifying goes against the principle of original work. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.82.9.19 (talk • contribs).

[edit] References!

The material in the first chapter is directly copied from "The Complete Mafia Encyclopedia". Kimera757 15:36, 12 December 2005 (UTC) Is there a place where this can be reported?

[edit] Name

Funny, on his grave it's written Umberto Anastasio??? Is it the same fellow? See Find-A-Grave. Lincher 16:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC) Why the change of name in NY? Lincher 16:13, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

When he first started commiting crimes in his neighberhood so he called himself Albert Anastasia so his family wouldn't find out he was a criminal. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.224.192.143 (talkcontribs).

[edit] Anastasia had the SS Normandie "whacked"? Says who?

I found in the article the surprising solution to questions regarding the source of the fire that sank the SS Normandie: It was "actually" Anastasia. I softened the "actually" to "it has been suggested", and added a "citation needed". Even this seems unduly strong with no citations, since the SS Normandie article doesn't even mention the possibility. Books I've read (e.g. "The Only Way to Cross") don't mention it, as far as I recall. Can somebody back this up either way? Otherwise, I intend to remove the specific claims regarding the Normandie, leaving the vaguer (but equally unsubstantiated) claims about waterfront violence during WWII. 68.163.37.163 01:56, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hank Messeck's Lansky claims Anastasia ordered his brother Tony Anastasio to burn the ship. Other websites support this theory as far as the actual planning went although who actually authorized Anastasia to set up the sabotage is disputed. MadMax 07:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed Trivia heading

Following another suggestion, removed the Trivia heading and moved the content elsewhere within the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rogermx (talkcontribs) 17:07, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
