Alberto José Fanesi (born February 16, 1948 in Casilda, Santa Fe) is an Argentine football managerer and former player. As a player he won the Argentine championship with three different teams.

Fanesi started his career with Deportivo Armenio before joining Rosario Central in 1968, he was part of their championship winning squad in the 1971 Nacional.

In 1973 he moved to Club Atlético Huracán where he was part of the 1973 Metropolitano winning team. He played with the club until 1977.

In 1978 he joined Quilmes Atlético Club where he helped the club to win their first and only Argentine championship in the Metropolitano 1978.

[edit] Coaching career

Fanesi has worked as a coach, and as a youth team coach for several clubs in Argentina. He worked as a youth coach until he earned his first managerial position at Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata between 1990 and 1991.He then went on to become manager of Huracán between 1991 and 1992.

Fanesi then returned to youth coaching until he was appointed as manager of Quilmes between 1997 and 1999. He returned once again to youth coaching before having two spells as the manager of Vélez Sársfield.

In 2006 he was appointed as manager of Club Guaraní in Paraguay, but returned to Argentina to take over at Quilmes, he didn't manage to rescue them from relegation, but following their demotion he stabilised their position in the Argentine 2nd division.
