Alannah MacTiernan is a current Australian Labor Party MP serving the role of Minister for Planning and Infrastructure.
She graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Law/Arts double-degree. She started her career with the Commonwealth Government, in the area of Aboriginal employment and training.
She was elected to the Perth City Council in 1988, where she stayed until 1994. In 1993, she was elected as the member for the East Metropolitan region in the Western Australian Legislative Council. She won the seat of Armadale in the Western Australian legislative assembly at the 1996 election.[1]
She was appointed the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure following the 2001 state election.[2]
