Alan Roger Currie is the author of the paperback, Mode One: Let The Women Know What You're REALLY Thinking.

Currie was born on March 3 in the United States of America, and raised in Gary, Indiana. Currie graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) with a B.A. in Economics in 1992.
Currie told close friends and acquaintances that he first came up with the idea for his bold, brash, extremely candid and provocatively forthright style of verbal communication, now referred to as Mode One Behavior, after watching an adult (erotic) film in 1981 entitled Talk Dirty To Me featuring John Leslie as an incorrigible slacker womanizer named "Jack" who had a knack for meeting attractive women, and then verbally seducing them into having sex by conversing with them in a very brash, confident, extremely frank and straightforward manner laced with sexually explicit language.
Currie was so intrigued by Jack's ability to remain totally unfazed by harsh criticisms and token resistance by women, that he began to imitate the verbal behavior exhibited by Leslie's character of Jack with many women he interacted with, and he found himself pleasantly surprised by the results. In late 1990, Currie began spreading the word of his new philosophy for verbal communication with women with many of his closest friends and acquaintances. Currie theorized that all of men's interpersonal communication with women could basically be divided into four general categories:

Soon after relocating to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career as a screenwriter and filmmaker in 1994, Currie published a 25-30 page pamphlet entitled The Mode One Principles. Because of the pamphlet, Currie's concepts for a more highly self-assured and more effective means of interpersonal communication with women began to become so popular, that he later published an eBook in 2001, and began selling the eBook on the Internet on such websites as AskMen.com and other message boards, discussion forums, and blogs related to dating & relationships, seduction, attraction, and improved interpersonal communication between the sexes.
The Mode One eBook was finally published as a paperback in March 2006 by a small, self-publishing company called BookLocker.com, and it is now sold on Amazon.com and on the Barnes & Noble website. Currie is also an Internet radio host on the BlogTalkRadio.com network. Currie has frequently resisted having his name, or his book, associated with the popular Seduction Community that features such Seduction gurus as Mystery, Neil Strauss, Juggler, and Ross Jeffries among others. Currie prefers to be known as an "Interpersonal Communication expert" rather than a "Dating Coach" or "Seduction Guru."
Currie is due to release a sequel to Mode One: Let The Women Know What You're REALLY Thinking in Summer of 2008. In addition to being an author and public speaker, Currie was the 1989 Grand Prize Winner of The Miller Lite Comedy Search contest in Chicago, Illinois, the same contest that Film and Television actor Bernie Mac won in 1990. Currie was also a member of the highly esteemed NBC page Program in Burbank, California in 1995. Currie is a member of the predominately African-American fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, as well as a member of the National Theatre & Drama Honor Society, Alpha Psi Omega.
