Aklera is located at 24.42° N 76.57° E.^[1] It has an average elevation of 309 metres (1013 feet).

As of 2001 India census,^[2] Aklera had a population of 18,167. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Aklera has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 62% of the males and 38% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.

• Kakoni

Kakoni is situated about 15 KM from aklera on Chhipabarod road. It is surrounded by the Mukundra mountain ranges and on the bank of Parwan river. It is said that the temples at Kakoni are built in 8th century. These are the remains of the 'Vaishnav', 'Shiv' and 'Jain' temples. About 60% statues of the Kakoni temples are kept in the Museums at Kota and Jhalawar districts. Archaeological department has announced the place as secure since 1970.

• Ram Mandir

Ram mandir is most famous temple of city.This is located on NH 12. This temple have three part 1. Ram Mandir, 2. Shiv mandir, 3. Krishan Mandir. Annakoot festival celebrated here gracefully after Diwawali.

• Ganesh Mandir

Ganesh mandir is situated on NH 90 beside Aklera pond. This temple have a good garden.

• Shiv Mandir (Old)

In aklera, this mandir is very old mandir near Teen Batti Tiraha. This having a big Shiv-ling.
