Welcome!

Hello, Akitora, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!

Yeah, the above is all just boilerplate, I'm afraid. But this isn't. Welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Don't spend too great a proportion of your time at "AfD": it's easy to develop a jaundiced view of humanity there. Writing articles is where it's at. -- Hoary (talk) 10:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Seems you took that to heart: excellent work! -- Hoary (talk) 13:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks mate! - wasn't hard, just copy paste and chasing up the citations :) Nice to know someone is out there making sure I don't go crazy with power :) Akitora (talk) 22:19, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikiproject Terrorism, we're glad to have you aboard! We could use your help in our discussions, as well as ideas to help improve the project's coordination! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 21:20, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ancient Japan

Hello. You've been adding a lot of stuff to Category:Ancient Japan. Please note that the category states:

This period is including the Japanese Paleolithic, Jōmon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods of Japanese History

Much the literature, to name a few, is Nara period which is well after Kofun. I think it is appropriate to remove a number of stuff from the category. Bendono (talk) 12:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Noted - I'm going back through and double checking - they are all articles from subclasses of Ancient Japan so I didn't give it much thought at the time.Akitora (talk) 12:24, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Jomon

Hi, glad to see someone working on this. I got bogged down on the dates of the main periods, which are no where near as clearcut as the article suggests (making the article in fact a very bad source for the dates, although some of the links at the bottom are pretty good). If you can figure out how to get the dating to match current research that would be great!Doug Weller (talk) 11:25, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Wouldn't it :) I'm actually going to go one step further after reading the criticisms of Prof. Charles Keally and invite him to rewrite it for us as the expert! We'll see...
Good luck. By the way, he told me he isn't sure how long his web pages will be up, so you might want to take copies of them.

And he's been criticised (maybe on a talk page here, I can't recall) for being out of date....Doug Weller (talk) 12:50, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
