[edit] Your recent edit to 1994 NFL season

I believe this addition of yours is factually incorrect. During the 1993 NFL season, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks played each other twice [1], and the Detroit Lions and the Phoenix Cardinals played each other twice.[2]

This was a part of the "fifth place schedule" during the 28-team NFL during that time. The fifth place team in the AFC East would play the fifth place team in the AFC West twice, and the fifth place team in the NFC East would play the fifth place team in the NFC Central twice.

Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:12, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

 • If in the future, you would like to make a list of non-divisional teams who faced off twice in a season, I have started the most recent ones for you:
Season Non-divisional teams faced off twice
1994 Tampa Bay and Washington [3]
Indianapolis and Seattle[4]
1993 New England and Seattle[5]
Detroit and Phoenix[6]
1992 Indianapolis and San Diego[7]
Phoenix and Tampa Bay[8]
1991 New England and Denver[9]
Phoenix and Minnesota[10]
1990 N.Y Jets and San Diego[11]
Dallas and Tampa Bay[12]
1989 Miami and Kansas City[13]
Dallas and Green Bay[14]
1988 N.Y. Jets and Kansas City[15]
N.Y. Giants and Detroit[16]
1987 Indianapolis and San Diego[17]
St. Louis and Tampa Bay[18]

You are welcome. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rockland County routes

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, the articles that you've created on county routes in Rockland County are not compliant with standards set at WP:NYCR. Please read the project page, where you can see the proper structure and, if you wish, sign up for the project.

Additionally, please use SVG images for the county shields instead of other media types. If you need help creating SVGs, ask me, and I can make the shields for you. Thanks! --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 22:21, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I posted a question a long time ago at Talk:County Route 80 (Rockland County, New York). Since you seem to be from the area, do you know the answer to the question? Thanks. --Polaron | Talk 01:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for the delayed reply. Regarding Rockland CR-80, I did find this that indicates CR-80 going around the lake, but the map says it is as of 2000 though. If it is unsigned, we can probably mention something about it in the article. Anyway, just in case you're not aware of these, Rockland County has a website for various maps of their county roads here. Cheers. --Polaron | Talk 23:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey Invitation

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 02:03, 17 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me

[edit] References to UWM in NCAA Tournament articles

Just thought you should know that all athletics teams at UW-Milwaukee are now called only "Milwaukee", just as all athletics teams at its sister school UW-Madison are called only "Wisconsin".

Also, please do not alter the links to redirect to the school. In articles regarding athletics, it is standard practice for the team's athletics page to be linked to, as Milwaukee's was. Just thought I'd give you a friendly, formal notice (in case you didn't realize these things) in order to save you the trouble of incorrectly reverting them. Cheers! CollegeSportsGuy 02:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid you're mistaken in this case. UWM changed the names of all athletic teams to "Milwaukee" in the late 1990's or early 2000's, well before the 2003 NCAA tournament. I have a 2002-2003 Milwaukee Basketball media guide right in front of me, and the team name is singularly "Milwaukee" in all references. Therefore all references to the schools teams in any encyclopedia must also be "Milwaukee" after that change. - CollegeSportsGuy 06:44, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Confused? Apparently you haven't been to the school's athletics website. If you would have taken 1 minute (likely less then the time you spent writing your response to me) to do a moments research, you'd know that is their primary name for every athletics team at the University. Want more? How's an official press release from their conference outlining official athletics name usages on Page 12.
Unacceptable usages: Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wis.-Milwaukee, Wisc.-Milwaukee, Wisconsin-Milw., and UW-M.
UW-Milwaukee and UIC officially do the same thing that UIUC, UW-Madison, and UNC-Charlotte do for their athletics teams. Now are you going to ask me to scan all 85 pages of my 2002-2003 Milwaukee men's basketball media guide for proof they changed this prior to that time? Perhaps you should learn from this experience and do a simple Google image search to see when all athletics uniforms at the University changed to read "Milwaukee". - CollegeSportsGuy 06:48, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] County Route 80 (Rockland County, New York)

According to WP:FUC, The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose. I removed the PIP logo based on that. Also, please provide an Edit summary. V60 VTalk · VDemolitions 03:36, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Rockland County images

You're quite welcome. The 112 shield should be working now.

Also, just so you know, shields for private roads (such as the Garden State Parkway, New York Thruway, and Palisades Interstate Parkway) are copyrighted and can only be used under fair use. This means they can only be used on article about the roads themselves, not other roads that intersect them. -- NORTH talk 03:36, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Three of your Rockland articles

I've put 33A, 80A and 118A up for merge into their parent routes, 33, 80 and 118. A road 1/10 of a mile long is not notable for Wikipedia.Mitch32contribs 19:15, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

The pics will stay, don't worry. There will a be a section in the parent routes mentioning about the roads. You can be free to write them if you want.Mitch32contribs 19:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Rockland 97

I've been down the road gazillions of times as well, I am also trying to help you in getting them better. References are also used in the article, because it follows Wikipedia guidelines. I know I'm adding history not about CR 97, but I've used it in many articles. In the process, I made the article, following WP:NYCR guidelines. I've been here longer than you have probably, but lemme help you. Mitch32contribs 00:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

It goes like this:
 1. Route description - A detailed description of the road. It is meant to be in an article.
 2. History - A history of the road. I should note my addings of the road history probably doesn't belong.
 3. Junction list - A chart listing it is to go here not a list.
 4. See also - Links that are related to the road
 5. References - Template:Reflist belongs here. Cites your sources.
 6. External links - Outside Wikipedia links based on the topic/road.
For the infobox:
 1. Road name belongs there
 2. Length: A correct one.
 3. Starting terminus and ending terminus - obvious
 4. Direction_a and Direction_b - obvious

Road lists do not belong in the article.Mitch32contribs 01:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I've read maps all my life as well. I also forgot to mention that all this is in better detail at WP:NYCR. Lemme help, it'll do us both better.Mitch32contribs 01:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, good job on CR 33, but you have to cite your sources. Things you know in your real life count as a source. See WP:NOR for more details.Mitch32contribs 17:34, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah but, like WP:NOR says, you can't use first hand knowledge in Wikipedia. Just source Google for the route description, thats all.Mitch32contribs 23:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I've worked on Rockland 47 and 72 right now if you need an update. Use those to base your articles.Mitch32contribs 00:21, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Note, you cannot claim ownership of articles on Wikipedia. They are free for anyone to edit. See: WP:OWN. Mitch32contribs 15:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Any chance you get

I need a pic of NY 59 for the article. I hope you can get one.Mitch32contribs 21:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Sure, I'll be running errands tomorrow, I will gather some pics. Airtuna08 00:14, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] USRD Inactivity check and news report

Hello, Airtuna08. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:

 1. Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
 2. There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 23:07, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent edits

I'm sorry for my recent edits, but I am only trying to help. Instead of reverting a change, specifically in 106 for the communities box one, just remove the name Pomona instead of removing the whole chart by reverting. Also, I'd suggest you remove the <--not correct--> comment from CR 72 as 1.6 miles is a correct mileage.Mitch32contribs 21:44, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

For some reason I thought that generated kilometers. Sorry about that. Go ahead and delete those accordingly. --Airtuna08 21:46, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
The parameter length_km would post the kilometres, but otherwise, with length_round, its done automatically.Mitch32contribs 21:59, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orange County

I saw your discussion with TwinsMetsFan on Orange County routes. I can help you as long as you accept my edits and not keep reverting them. These are my proposals:

 1. Let me work on stuff such as writing the route description and mileage.
 2. You can work on the infobox, get pictures, even work on the history if you'd like. Also if you wanna do the route description once in a while, I suggest using a reference, not personal knowledge. As much as I'd like to also, its not allowed. Some of my best articles haven't passed due to it.
 3. Pick and choose your articles. I specifically wanna do Orange 72. 72 is 1.7 miles long in Orange County. You can do 106 if you want, but be careful on what you do.

If you follow these, you will get some good articles.Mitch32contribs 21:44, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Sure. Shield-wise, I lost all my shield making stuff in a computer crash. Sorry man. Mitch32contribs 22:17, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rockland list

Well thanks. Don't try adding more pics, because there's no room. Welcome back by the way :) Its been one month since I've seen you.Mitch32contribs 01:14, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Also, CR 106, after some consideration with others, should be merged into the 210 article. 72, 33, 41, 64, 80 and 73 are staying as well.Mitch32contribs 01:17, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, Orange has few notable routes. I really only suggest having an article for 72. Otherwise, we can put the rest in a list like Rockland's.Mitch32contribs 13:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Eh, is CR 69 really decommissioned? Seems really odd that most sites i've seen say that it still exists.Mitch32contribs 23:49, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Just making sure. And yes, you can get the credit too.Mitch<down>32</down>contribs 10:30, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok. I ask if you have any pictures of these decomissioned roads. If you want, you can get started on blurbs for Orange County. Mitch32contribs 18:37, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok, but please, next time, don't edit my userpage without telling me - I was in school, i didn't have the chance to update it.Mitch32contribs 18:46, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

"If you want, you can get started on blurbs for Orange County." - I should note - only create an article for 106 and 72, as they are probably the only notable ones.Mitch32contribs 19:04, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Lets get the blurbs together - So far we know 3 of them - 1, 72 and 106.Mitch32contribs 20:47, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I know the site. Also, i doubt many sources exist. That's the problem with county routes, and why i like using google maps.Mitch32contribs 20:53, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Erie

Thanks. Yes I am doing a list. By the way, two things. 1) Congrats on decorating your userpage, and 2) I can make shields somewhat now. Mitch32contribs 12:45, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Unless you plan a trip to Erie County for pictures, I'm not sure I'm not gonna need anything yet. But you're welcome to help out with the second list that I have to start. (I'm publishing list 1 soon.)Mitch32contribs 17:09, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Then I need one special pic. Jamison Road, just north of East Aurora for the CR 574 article.Mitch32contribs 18:00, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] CR 106

Thanks for the fix-ups on CR 106. One thing is - mileposts with 0.0 should be 0.00. Also this article needs a slightly longer route description, which you can write if you want. All it needs is more detail in the first paragraph. I'm hoping to get CR 106 to GA status. Mitch32contribs 11:27, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Nice (remember to source it). I have a suggestion, maybe working on the actual 210 wouldn't be a bad idea. Also, CRs 33, 41, 72, and 80 need expansion if possible. Mitch32contribs 20:04, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
May I suggest when you're done with 33 and 80 - the lists needs major cleanup. I'll give you a list later to what they need. Mitch32contribs 16:55, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Already exists .Mitch32contribs 17:08, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
--Here you go, they already existed. Mitch32contribs 17:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

No problem. Our opinions of each other have certainly changed. Its great that we're working together. Let's do CR 97 correctly, since we always fought over that route.Mitch32contribs 17:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NY 306

Oh god, the history's getting too long - I think we need to remake it a bit. I originally had 118 and 73 in mind for the two to be in there.Mitch32contribs 03:04, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, if it wasn't removed, its GA was gonna probably be revoked. So I removed all of it into their respective sections.Mitch32contribs 16:43, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NY 45

There has been requests to reword the history and you have yourself you're first B-class article. If you can, trying fixing that.Mitch32contribs 22:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 33 & 80

Routes 33 & 80 are start-class now - need a COMPLETE history to be B-class. Otherwise, they look good.Mitch32contribs 11:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

80 is officially 12 miles, ending at US 9W according to my latest reference.Mitch32contribs 21:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CR 23

I'm not sure. Write it to the standards of 80 and 106 and then we'll see.Mitch32contribs 02:53, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New York State Route 304 map?

You just edited the NY 304 article claiming to have a better map. I don't see any map at all. ----DanTD (talk) 04:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

My mistake. I thought it was posted in the infobox earlier. ----DanTD (talk) 04:37, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Maps for 45 and 304

You're gonna have to get the details for B-class in before a map can be made according to the new proposals, so it'll have to wait. And I didn't make them, I added them.Mitch32contribs 16:02, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rockland CRs

If you want, maybe you should work on some more sources for the three lists for a future FLC. I can help where necessary.Mitch32contribs 19:00, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Summarizing the articles on the lead page List of county routes in Rockland County, New York and building up the statistics section on that page.Mitch32contribs 21:28, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I have some bad news for you. See how I removed the communities box from CR 80? Well per talking at WT:USRD, the community boxes are no longer being used due to redundancy. Probably should remove them all. Mitch32contribs 22:10, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I saw the addition, cool. Anyway, the article's almost B-class, gotta find a commissioning date.Mitch32contribs 22:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Not quite how I meant summarizing :) - I more of meant paragraph detail about certain things, a picture included next to each would help.Mitch32contribs 21:53, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I got suggested that they should be in prose like I said. Could you quickly do it?Mitch32contribs 16:41, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I meant the main page of the four.Mitch32contribs 17:08, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I am in the process of converting out the google refs. There's wayyy too many. I think the Rockland County maps will do better.Mitch32contribs 18:07, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

That ain't my map, I just added it. This thing's almost at FLC, just needs more refs and stuff (no google though).Mitch32contribs 20:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NY 59

I saw the god awful articles been expanded. I do have a suggestion, and that is to join the #wikipedia-en-roads channel on IRC. All the roadgeeks stay there, and you might be able to perform better with peer help. [www.mibbit.com Here] is a link to a IRC client that I use and peer help would be very useful. I really suggest you join. If you need a tutorial of the client just tell me.Mitch32contribs 23:00, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Put #wikipedia-en-roads in that line.Mitch32contribs 11:10, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, this would really be a good time to discuss this on IRC, becuase now NY 59 is a complete mess to the others and the stability is falling apart. Its on the verge of losing its GA status. So it would help a lot if you come on and get some help from others, not just me.Mitch32contribs 22:33, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Try downloading Chatzilla and use that to get in. It may work better that way.Mitch32contribs 23:14, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:NY59&US202.jpg

If you took this photograph for the New York State Route 59 article, why are you suddenly tagging it for deletion? ----DanTD (talk) 19:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] nbsp = non-breaking space

I don't know if you've received an answer for this or if you've discovered it on your own, but the is a code for a non-breaking space. When a browser sees this code between pieces of text, it won't split the combined term to separate lines. So, addressing the sample you mentioned in your post, the NY and the 59 will not be split if the term appears near the end of a line, ensuring that NY 59 will appear as a cohesive term and reducing any confusion had the parts been separated by page layout. [edit] Orange CR 106

I heard recently that the road was closed off due to culvert failure at Little Long Pond. If you could, try to get a picture of it for County Route 106 (Orange County, New York). Mitch32contribs 10:55, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, Tiorati Brook Road changes names, making a title hard to do. Lake Welch Parkway, I can look into. Mitch32contribs 21:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arden Valley, Tiorati Brook, and Lake Welch

Well. The problem with Tiorati Brook Road, is that it is not maintained or owned by the state. The road is maintained my the Palisades Commission, maintaining it as such. Lake Welch Parkway is both the state's and the comission's with it labeled as Reference Route 987A. I can try an article on Lake Welch, but I may not be able to with Tiorati Brook. [edit] Rockland County Routes 76-118A

Anyway, to notify you, I am starting the work on the list again, however, there are many issues still. It needs the following:

 1. Convert templates for mileage.
 2. Useless trivia (such as the wrong signage direction) removed.
 3. A complete copyedit.
 4. Everything written-out (Rd to Road, etc.)

I can't do this alone, and I would like some help if possible on it.Mitch32contribs 23:13, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

As discussed at WT:USRD, the participants list at WP:USRD is being split by state. This is part of the lengthy process. If this is in error, please let me know immediately. Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 04:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
