Abu Sa'id (Ilkhanid dynasty)

Abu Sa'id (June 2, 1305, Ujan – December 1, 1335) also Abusaid Bahador Khan, Abu Sayed Behauder), was the ninth ruler of the Ilkhanate state in Iran (1316-1335). In 1306, he defeated Golden Horde army. So mongols gave him name Bahadur (Баатар) which means Hero. During his early rule, Rashid ad-Din beheaded by Chupan who became de facto ruler. In 1325 Coban defeated another force led by Öz-Beg, and even invaded the Blue Horde again.
Abu Said fell in love with Bagdad Katun who was daughter of Chupan. Coban's efforts to keep Abu Sa'id from marrying his daughter Bagdad Katun, who was already married to Hasan Buzurg, did not help the situation. In August 1327 Abu Sa'id had Demasq Kaja killed, ostensibly for the latter's activities with a former concubine of Öljeitü's. Later Chupan was killed by Kartids. Mamluks beheaded Chupanid Temurtash who revolted against Ilkhanate before and shown mercy.
He died without an heir or named successor. The state lost its status after his death, becoming a plethora of little kingdoms run by Mongols, Turks, and Persians.
