Abdul Karim (soil scientist)

Abdul Karim (1922 - December 22, 1973) was a widely published Bangla Desh soil scientist.[1]
Karim started his academic career at Dhaka University as a Lecturer in 1947. He spent two years earning his PhD in Soil Science at the University of Adelaide during 1949-1951, returning to the Dhaka University's newly formed Department of Soil Science. He rose to head the department in 1963.
He was the first head of the Agricultural Chemistry Department at the Bangla Desh at the Bangladesh Agricultural University. He also served as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.
Karim worked in the fields of biogas technology; new sources for edible oils; and new techniques for glass production.
