69 Hesperia (hes-peer'-ee-ə, IPA: /hɛsˈpɪriə/) is a large, M-type main belt asteroid.
Hesperia was discovered by the famous Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli on April 26, 1861. It was his only asteroid discovery. It is named after one of the Hesperides in Greek mythology.
