User talk:66.194.104.5

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This IP address is that of User:Licorne, who has been banned from Wikipedia by order of ArbCom (see User talk:Licorne). If you are not the above user, please feel free to contact an admin. As this IP may be occasionally used by other people, blocks should be set for non-infinite, though long, periods of time. Other admins should feel free to block at will if it appears to be Licorne evading his block (any edits to Einstein-related pages are probably Licorne). --Fastfission 00:08, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. PaulC/T+ 15:35, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You have been blocked

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia  for vandalism. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, and repeated and blatant violation of our neutrality policy are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires.  Glen  16:57, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "This IP address belongs to St. Petersburg College and its libraries and is used by many people. This IP adddress was used in the past by User:Licorne to evade his or her block and was then rightly blocked. My issue is that most recently, this IP was blocked for a month for vandalism without any warnings since 9 November. I believe that the IP should have been warned at least with {{blatantvandal}} and then blocked for a shorter period of time since there is a different mix of people every day. The contributions of this IP show that there are some good anonymous wikipedians and some idiots. In the event of stupid vandalism by what is likely only one person, please consider blocking for a shorter time (24-48 hours). Thank you."

Decline reason: "The block is anonymous only, if you are a legitimate editor please login to edit. Thanks. --WinHunter (talk) 05:44, 23 November 2006 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

[edit] Banning public computers

For the record, this is a public computer at St Petersburg College. So just keep in mind that by going after this guy, you've now prevented anyone who uses these computers from editing. Sharp as a tack, you guys. Blind incompetance and preferring easy and overly large actions rather than taking the time for accuracy is why I avoid Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.194.104.5 (talk) 12:23, 17 March 2008

I have disagreed with blocks against this IP, but they are softblocks. Only anonymous editors are prevented from editing. While the IP has been blocked more than a year ago to stop User:Licorne, it's more recently been blocked to put an end to stupid vandalism. There are two ways to edit: 1) register an account from home and use it to edit here, or 2) convince people not to vandalize from the school computer. The former is probably your best option, if you care to edit. 66.194.104.5 (talk) 00:00, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
