The 1976 VFL Grand Final took place on September 25, 1976 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between VFL clubs Hawthorn and North Melbourne. The game was attended by a crowd of 110,143 people.
North Melbourne were the reigning premiers but failed to go back to back, losing the Grand Final by five goals. Hawthorn won their third premiership and avenged their Grand Final loss of the previous season. The win was dedicated to former captain Peter Crimmins who was suffering from cancer and would die three days after the game.
